WARNING: Teenage Rambling & Teenage Opinions Proceed with Caution
I have always wondered why people are so skeptical towards church and christianity in general. Now I understand why. With every organization comes its flaws. Religion is an organization, and with it comes youth groups, benedictions, and God knows what! Relgious and nonrelgious people need to know that those "things" are not the core of christianity or any other religion.
I was watching the biographies to the movie, "The Lord of the Rings" (call me obsessed I don’t care). Throughout the movie, Peter Jackson explains that they left out everything in the book that didn’t directly describe or link towards the ring, Frodo, main character, and his journey to Mount Doom. Therefore there are characters that are in the book The Lord of the Rings that are not in the movie. Yes, at first I admit I was unhappy that these characters and scenes were not mentioned in the movie, but I now know the reason. I think Peter Jackson was trying to find the "core" the meaning and the main theme behind the book.
Christians need to do that…as well as Buddhist, Muslims and atheists. We all need to find our core our center. What is our core, and our center? I personally believe its your central belief. You believe in Buddha? Good for you! You believe in Jesus, or a greater being? Good for you as well. But, gosh throw out the traditions and the unimportant details, that lengthen the sermon, that aren’t even in the Bible, or the Qur’an for that matter. Their traditions that people centuries before invented. Pay tribute to your belief(s), not to dead guys long ago that invented benedictions and organ playing.
